Since 2006 I have been training and developing professional web designers. It can be extremely rewarding to see someone start with very little knowledge or skill grow into a talented and sought after professional. Before that I was a small business owner specializing in developing small business websites. It suddenly dawned on me that I have the perfect skills, knowledge and passion for a website that focuses on helping new web designers develop their skills and learn how to run their own business.
Something I have noticed from over 11 years in the Internet business is that tech people gravitate towards snobbery. There are Linux Nazi’s, Apple Fanboy’s, and any number of niche cult-like followers, who believe if you are not using their preferred software or following their preferred methods then you have no business being on the Internet. I believe that the Internet has plenty of room for everyone even those who don’t eat, sleep and breath technology. So, I will try my best to avoid the trappings of exclusivity and write from the perspective that there is always a different way to do things, and that is okay. Of course no one person can be an expert in all methods so I will write about what I know, teach the methods that I use, while acknowledging other ways of doing it and if you don’t like how I do it or want to try something else I can point you in a direction to find what you are looking for.
So feel free to post any questions or comments anywhere on this site. I will do my best to answer them in a timely manner. I am also available for website hosting, design, or consulting.
